How to work with multiple places in VS Code (using Rojo)

Setting up the environment (LLS)

  1. Create a folder named .vscode (this is the local VS Code environment).
  2. Create a settings.json file inside .vscode if it doesn't already exist.
  3. Copy the following into settings.json:
{
"luau-lsp.sourcemap.enabled": true,
"luau-lsp.sourcemap.autogenerate": true,
"luau-lsp.sourcemap.rojoProjectFile": "lobby.project.json",
"luau-lsp.sourcemap.sourcemapFile": "lobby.sourcemap.json"
}

Note: Remember to change the two sourcemap settings at the bottom whenever you switch to working on a different place.

Build the place from scratch

rojo build -o "Commands.rbxlx"

Next, open Commands.rbxlx in Roblox Studio and start the Rojo server:

rojo serve

Build the place's sourcemap

rojo sourcemap "place_name.project.json" -o "place_name.sourcemap.json"

Note: if you are experiencing require bugs related to luau language server, try to use this cmd again.

Serve the project (multiplaces scenario)

rojo serve "place_name.project.json"

(i think rojo plugin does have options to serve which place you want)
